Lucknow, March 3 -- Ninety nine per cent of the projects started under the Smart City Scheme have been commissioned in Uttar Pradesh, officials said here on Tuesday.
In pursuit of the March 15 deadline, a new review by the Urban Development Department found that 677 of the total 682 projects approved to ease the lives of urban residents have been completed.
Senior officials said that three of the remaining five projects could be inaugurated within a week, while the rest will be operational by March 14.
Launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in June 2015, the scheme covered 10 cities in Uttar Pradesh run by municipal corporations -Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Saharanpur and Varanas...
