Aizawl, March 25 -- A Slovak national was detained near the Mizoram-Myanmar border after he was found attempting to cross into Myanmar without valid documents, police officials said on Wednesday.
The 58-year-old foreigner, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently in police custody in Siaha district. He is being questioned by Mizoram Police with the involvement of central and state intelligence agencies, officials said, adding that more information is expected once the interrogation progresses.
The man was intercepted on Tuesday by Assam Rifles personnel at Laki village, located around 60- 75 km from Siaha town. He was subsequently handed over to the police and brought to the district headquarters for further investigation.
