Shimla, Feb. 27 -- The stretch of the Slapper-Tattapani-Suni-Luhri road in Shimla district which had been closed due to road-side subsidence during monsoon, has been reopened for vehicular traffic with immediate effect following restoration work.
According to an order issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sunni, the Assistant Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD), Sunni, informed the administration that the damaged portion from RD 77/555 to 77/570 has been repaired and is now fit for movement of vehicles. The road had earlier been closed to all types of traffic after subsidence posed safety risks to commuters.
