Chandigarh, March 6 -- In a significant operation aimed at enhancing state security, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a cross-border illegal weapons smuggling network with the arrest of six individuals, including a 16-year-old juvenile.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, confirmed on Friday that the crackdown led to the recovery of five sophisticated pistols, including a Pakistan-made Gretta, along with 34 live cartridges and a sharp-edged weapon. This breakthrough comes as part of the ongoing state-wide drive to eliminate organized crime and illegal arms trafficking.
