Laitkynsew (Meghalaya), July 12 -- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today visited Laitkynsew village in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district and interacted with Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Lakhpati Didis, and Farmer Producer Organisation (FPOs).
Laitkynsew village, about 51 Km towards Meghalaya's capital Shillong, is best known for its living root bridges. This 53-feet long and over a hundred years old Umnnoi root bridge, locally known as 'Jingkieng Deingjri' is the prime reason why thousands of tourists from all across the world visit this village every year.
