Sitapur (UP), Jan. 10 -- The local police has registered a major case of Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion exceeding Rs 100 crore and busted an organized inter-district racket involved in large-scale tax fraud through the timber trade. Seven accused have been arrested in a joint operation conducted by Khairabad police station and the Special Operations Group (SOG), police sources said on Saturday.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Sitapur. The accused were arrested near Asothar village while allegedly trying to flee.
