Hyderabad, Feb. 1 -- In a key development in the phone tapping case, Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials questioned BRS chief and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at his Nandinagar residence here on Sunday for nearly five hours amid tight security arrangements.

The questioning reportedly focused on allegations that key police wings were misused during the BRS regime for political purposes, including surveillance of opponents and alleged support to the party's electoral strategy.

According to sources, the inquiry began at around 3 pm and continued for nearly four hours and 45 minutes.

After completing the questioning, the SIT officials left the residence.
