Jaunpur, Jan. 9 -- A shocking incident was reported from Jaunpur district on Thursday, where a woman allegedly attempted to burn her brother-in-law alive following a domestic dispute.
When her sister tried to intervene, the accused allegedly assaulted her, leaving her unconscious. Both victims were rushed to hospital, with the man suffering serious burn injuries.
The incident occurred in Sipahi Mohalla under the Kotwali police station limits of Jaunpur city, police said on Friday.
According to police officials, the victim, 30-year-old Sandeep Mishra, a resident of Ballia district, has been living in a rented house in Jaunpur's Madiahun area with his wife, Pratima Chauhan, since January 1.
