Washington, April 16 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday, marking the first direct contact between the two leaders in decades, as per reports.
The move follows ambassador-level talks between both the countries in which US Secretary of State Marco Rubio partipated amid continued fighting between Israel and Hezbollah based in southern Lebanon. The Israeli security cabinet discussed the possibility of a ceasefire with Lebanon on Wednesday.
