Bengaluru, March 17 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sent a stern letter to his cabinet ministers over delays in responding to legislators' questions, highlighting the embarrassment caused to the government and the erosion of Assembly dignity.

Out of 245 questions submitted from the 1st to the 9th Session of the 16th Karnataka Legislative Assembly (2023-26), only 90 have been answered so far.

"This has not only caused serious embarrassment to the government but has also undermined the rights of the legislators and the dignity of the House," Siddaramaiah wrote.

He directed departmental secretaries to immediately explain the delays and instructed that pending questions be addressed with clear timelines.
