Bengaluru, March 9 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said the state government has sanctioned the Uduthorehalla Irrigation Project with an allocation of Rs 490 crore after children from Kempayyanahatti village in Chamarajanagar district wrote to him highlighting the severe water shortage in their village.

The Chief Minister said children from Kempayyanahatti village in Hunnur taluk of Chamarajanagar district had written to him a few days ago explaining the water scarcity faced by residents and requesting the government to provide a permanent solution.
