Lucknow, Sept. 23 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, on the instructions of the Election Commission of India, has issued show-cause notices to 127 political parties (RUPPs) registered at addresses in the state.

These political parties did not submit their annual audited accounts for the past three financial years (2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24) by the due date.

According to EC officials today, these political parties participated in various elections held in the past six years, from 2019 to the present, but failed to file their election expenditure statements within the stipulated timeframe.
