Ranchi, Aug. 21 -- From 2026, students in Jharkhand schools will study the life and struggles of "Dishom Guru" Shibu Soren as part of their syllabus.
The state's School Education and Literacy Department has decided to include chapters on the veteran leader across eight textbooks from Classes 1 to 12.
Officials said the move aims to ensure that the younger generation grows up with awareness of Jharkhand's own icons alongside national leaders.
For primary classes, Soren's life will be presented through simple stories and anecdotes, while
higher classes will engage with themes like tribal identity, social reform, parliamentary contributions, and the movement for Jharkhand's statehood.
