Kolhapur, Sept. 10 -- Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) national president Raju Shetty met union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today and requested him to cancel the proposed Shaktipeeth Expressway.

He told Gadkari that the state government has laid the Shaktipeeth highway project without any demand from any temple committee or devotees.

All the temples from Pawanar to Patra Devi are situated along the existing Ratnagiri-Nagpur highway and there was no problem of reported traffic jams on the way to any mentioned temples for devotees, he said.
