Mathura, Feb. 23 -- Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajananda Dev Tirtha Ji Maharaj has made a major statement on the recent developments in Bangladesh.
During his visit to Mathura, he said that Bangladesh historically falls within the special protected area of the Govardhan Math, and therefore, the interests of 12.5 million Hindus there are paramount for us.
Shankaracharya said that the courage with which the Sanatani community there has protected its monasteries and temples amid immense political turmoil is commendable. Congratulating the new government, he called on the Tariq Rahman-led government to show sensitivity towards the safety and all-round development of minorities.
