Kolkata, April 10 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Sankalpa Patra' for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, placing the spotlight firmly on leadership and governance by asserting that the party will appoint a "strong, capable and able" Chief Minister from Bengal if voted to power.
"We will come to power, and our Chief Minister will be from Bengal. I don't think he will have any problem in taking help from the Central government. The Chief Minister will be from Bengal, and he will be strong, a good administrator and an able leader," Shah said, underlining the BJP's attempt to counter criticism that the party lacks a strong local face in the state.
