Kolkata, April 15 -- Home Minister Amit Shah was unable to reach Darjeeling on Wednesday to address a scheduled election rally due to inclement weather, but used a video message from Malda to reach out to voters in the hill region during his North Bengal tour for the West Bengal Assembly election.

Shah was slated to address his first rally at Lebong in Darjeeling in support of BJP candidates from Darjeeling and Kurseong assembly constituencies.

However, authorities denied landing permission for his aircraft at Bagdogra airport due to adverse weather conditions, forcing a change in plans.
