Thiruvananthapuram, July 9 -- Opposition Leader in the Kerala Assembly, V.D. Satheesan, alleged that SFI activists carried out violent attacks in Universities with the backing of the state police, calling it clear evidence of government-sponsored hooliganism.

"Just like the Red Volunteers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), SFI activists unleashed violence with the support of the Kerala Police," Satheesan said, responding to the recent violent protests carried out by SFI at the Kerala University campus.

"What took place in the state's universities under the leadership of the SFI was nothing short of government-sponsored hooliganism," he charged.
