Pune, Jan. 19 -- Serious health concerns have emerged in Pune's Karve Nagar area after residents reported the supply of sewage-mixed water, triggering widespread outrage.

Contaminated and foul-smelling water was supplied across the locality, raising fears of waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and skin infections.

The incident was reported on Sunday (January 18) in the Gaikwad Chawl area near Bhujbal Bungalow, where sewage-contaminated water flowed through the main water pipeline.

Residents said that during the morning water supply, several households received dirty, discoloured water from their taps.

In many homes, the water was blackish in colour and emitted a strong, unpleasant odour.
