Shimla, Jan. 12 -- Amid biting cold conditions in Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department on Monday issued an orange alert for a severe cold wave in parts of the state.

The Shimla Meteorological Centre has sounded an orange alert for Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts, while a yellow alert has been issued for Una, Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi districts.

Dense fog is expected to continue across the state until January 15, significantly reducing visibility and posing risks for motorists. A yellow alert for dense fog has been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur districts.
