Chandigarh, April 2 -- In a devastating road mishap, senior Punjab Congress leader Khushbaz Jatana and his car driver were killed on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Sonipat late Thursday. The accident occurred near the Jakholi toll plaza when a speeding truck rammed into their stationary Defender SUV.
Jatana, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Assembly elections from the Talwandi Sabo constituency in Bathinda and had previously served as Chairman in the Punjab Government, was reportedly returning to Punjab after attending several high-profile meetings in Delhi.
