Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- Telanana Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Thursday urged the Centre to immediately release the pending funds under the 15th Finance Commission for village development.

The Centre has released Rs 387 crore as the latest tranche, taking the total release to Telangana to Rs 646.36 crore. However, against an expected allocation of nearly RS 3,000 crore, about Rs 2,400 crore is still pending. The Minister said early release of funds is crucial for strengthening village panchayats and accelerating rural development.
