Thrissur, Jan. 14 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday asserted that artists must never be judged through the lens of religion, stating that art alone is their true religion.
Inaugurating the 64th Kerala School Kalolsavam at the historic Thekkinkadu Maidan here, the Chief Minister said art is not merely meant to provide pleasure but also to equip society with the strength to resist communalism and divisive forces.
In a situation where even Christmas celebrations are facing attacks in parts of the country, he warned against attempts to view arts and artists in religious terms.
