Chandigarh, Jan. 31 -- Security agencies and Punjab Police have been placed on high alert following a series of bomb threats targeting multiple educational institutions in Jalandhar, just a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to the state.

The threats, delivered via email, specifically mentioned the Prime Minister's visit and cited the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar as a motive for seeking "revenge."The threatening emails, sent under the pseudonym 'Billi Hall,' initially targeted Cambridge School before being expanded to include KMV Sanskriti School, British Oliva School, and CJS Public School.
