New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- Marking a major engineering milestone in India's first high-speed rail corridor, union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday announced the successful breakthrough of the second mountain tunnel in Palghar district of Maharashtra for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.
The 454-metre-long tunnel, designed with a width of 14.4 metres to accommodate both up and down tracks, represents a significant step forward in the rapid progress of the ambitious high-speed rail initiative, a statement from the Ministry of Railways read.
