Shimla, Jan. 20 -- With climate stress mounting on hill agriculture and farm livelihoods especially in Himachal Pradesh, policymakers, scientists and development partners got together here under the aegis of Himalayan Agroeccology Initiative (HAI) to deliberate and prepare a "road map" to accelerate agroecological transition in the Himalayan state.

The second stakeholder consultation of HAI formed part of the ongoing multi-country HAI process aimed at developing evidence-based pathways for resilient food systems across the Indian Himalayan region.

Addressing the gathering, Advisor (Planning) to the state government Dr Basu Sood underlined that agroecology was critical to reducing both climate and livelihood risks in hill agriculture.
