Shillong, Oct. 6 -- Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister Wailadmiki Shylla today said the issue of seat allotment of MBBS under the state quota has been resolved following a meeting with the Khasi Students' union (KSU).
He stated that the allotment of MBBS seats under the state quota was done in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
However, the KSU had demanded the scrapping of the SOP for seat allotment after two non-tribal students were allotted MBBS seats in the unreserved category.
The government had already put on hold the dates for acceptance of the selected candidates to pursue the MBBS course, after the KSU and other pressure groups strongly objected to the selection of Ghosh and Chakravarty instead of ...
