Hyderabad, March 25 -- AbhiBus, the online bus-ticketing platform owned by ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited), on Wednesday said the upcoming summer season, weddings, festivals and elections in states such as Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to drive strong growth in bus travel demand.
Rohit Sharma, COO, AbhiBus, said rising airfares due to higher crude oil prices and congestion in railways are likely to push more passengers towards buses.
The company is offering discounts of up to 25 per cent to attract travellers during the peak season.
"Bus travel competes with air, rail and personal vehicles. When airfares rise or railway waiting lists increase, buses see a direct uptick in demand," he said.
