Hyderabad, Jan. 31 -- The scrutiny of nominations submitted for the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana is scheduled to be taken up on Saturday, following the conclusion of the nomination process on Friday.
Election officials said a total of 29,694 nominations were filed across the state. Candidates who were present at the respective offices after 1700 hours on Friday were also permitted to submit their nomination papers.
The deadline for withdrawing nominations is February 3. Polling for the municipal elections will take place on February 11, with vote counting set for February 13.
Elections will be conducted for 2,996 wards spread across 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations in the state, officials added.
