New Delhi, Oct. 27 -- The Supreme Court today directed all States and union Territories to inform within eight weeks about the steps taken to implement the mental health and suicide prevention guidelines issued by the Court for educational institutions across the country.
A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta also granted eight weeks to the Center to file a compliance affidavit detailing the measures undertaken to enforce these guidelines.
The directions came during the hearing on the implementation of the Court's July 25 order, which had laid down 15 comprehensive guidelines to tackle the rising incidents of student suicides and mental health crises in schools, colleges, and private coaching centers.
