Chennai, Nov. 25 -- Expressing concern over their future in the wakeof Supreme Court directing tht all in-service teachers, who have not passedthe Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to clear in two years to continue in service,Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday evening urged PrimeMinister Narendra Modi to take necessary steps to suitably amend theRTE Act, 2009 and NCTE Act 1993 to ensure that the teachers who werein service on August 23, 2010 are duly protected.

In a Demi-Official letter to Mr Modi, copies of which were released to themedia here, he said this poses a serious risk of destabilising the functioningof the school education system.
