New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Supreme Court today reiterated that criminal cases arising from matrimonial disputes must be scrutinised with utmost care, keeping in mind pragmatic realities, to prevent misuse of the legal process.

A Bench of Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice R. Mahadevan quashed an FIR filed by a wife against her brother-in-law alleging dowry harassment and domestic cruelty under Sections 323, 498A of the IPC and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
