New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted interim bail to former Chhattisgarh Excise Minister and sitting Congress MLA Kawasi Lakhma in two cases linked to the alleged Chhattisgarh liquor scam, one registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act by the Economic Offences Wing/Anti-Corruption Bureau (EOW/ACB) and the other a connected money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and JusticeVipul Pancholi granted the relief after taking note of Lakhma's prolonged incarceration and the remote possibility of an early conclusion of the trial.
