New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a writ petition filed by Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) and its parent charitable society, seeking protection of the University's minority character after miscreants allegedly installed idols in the Dean's office.
A bench, comprising Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran, observed that the petition was not maintainable under Article 32 of the Constitution and granted liberty to the petitioners to approach the jurisdictional High Court under Article 226.
