Mumbai, March 23 -- Rohini Khadse, Maharashtra State Women's Chief of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), has termed the chaos during the Satara Zilla Parishad president's election as a "warning bell" for ruling alliance partners.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, Khadse said that the developments during the election should serve as a lesson for the two other parties in power. She pointed out that despite a pre-poll alliance between the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) faction and the Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena, which together had 35 members compared to BJP's 27, the presidential post ultimately went to the BJP.
