Ranchi, April 16 -- Janata Dal (United) MLA Saryu Roy on Thursday sought a wider probe into the alleged sexual assault of a student in Ranchi, urging authorities to investigate possible organised involvement.
Roy said he had spoken to the senior superintendent of police, who assured strict action against those involved in the incident.
He, however, said the investigation should not be limited to the accused already arrested and called for expansion of the probe to examine possible links to a larger network.
Citing information received by him, Roy alleged that a group may be involved in targeting students and using coercion, including recording of photos and videos.
