New Delhi, Jan. 22 -- Senior IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar on Thursday assumed charge as the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Khirwar is a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre.
According to MCD officials, upon taking charge, Khirwar outlined key priorities for the civic body, including strengthening the city's sanitation system, improving the financial health of the Corporation, enhancing ease of doing business, and ensuring efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly delivery of municipal services.
He also emphasised the use of digital platforms and technology-driven solutions to ensure faster, more accountable and responsive civic governance, officials added.
