Mumbai, Jan. 29 -- In the aftermath of the plane crash in which Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was reported to have died, Shiv Sena (UBT) Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut on January 29 raised serious questions over the handling and transparency of investigations into aircraft accidents across the country, bringing the issue of aviation safety back into sharp political focus.
Addressing the media in Mumbai, Raut asked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to clarify what happened to the investigations ordered after several aircraft and charter flight crashes in Maharashtra and other parts of India.
