Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has triggered fresh political speculation in Maharashtra by suggesting that "different developments" could unfold once Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis returns to Mumbai from the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.

Raut's remarks come at a time when political activity has intensified following the declaration of municipal corporation election results and amid visible friction between the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena at the local level. The recent understanding between the Shinde faction and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation has further fuelled debate within political circles.
