Sangli, Feb. 6 -- On the occasion of the 142nd anniversary of the Postal Life Insurance of the Indian Postal Department, the Sangli Postal Department achieved a record performance on February 2.
In a single day, by insuring 5,202 citizens worth a whopping Rs. 1 billion 66 crores and paying a record premium of Rs. 7 crore 41 lakh 83 thousand 521, the Sangli Department ranked first in the country.
Postal Life Insurance (PLI) is implemented by the Postal Department for employees, professionals and graduates in urban areas, while the Rural Postal Life Insurance Scheme is implemented for citizens in rural areas.
