Dodoma, Nov. 2 -- Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan has secured another term in office, winning a landslide victory in the latest polls, which were accompanied by massive violence, social unrest, and mounting allegations of fraud.
The National Electoral Commission announced on Saturday that Hassan, representing the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, won 98 per cent of the vote, with nearly 32 million ballots cast earlier in the week, as per media reports.
Voter turnout stood at around 87 per cent of the country's 37.6 million registered voters, officials said.
