Bengaluru, Dec. 28 -- Spiritual leader and environmentalist Sadhguru has urged the union Government to amend British-era laws governing agricultural land, asserting that everything grown on farmland must belong to farmers, including trees.
Addressing a large gathering of farmers at an agricultural seminar organised by Isha Outreach's Cauvery Calling initiative in Hosur, Sadhguru called for liberating agriculture from excessive government controls and removing policy hurdles that restrict farmers from freely selling trees grown on their own land.
"Whatever the farmer grows on his land should belong to the farmer," Sadhguru said, emphasising the need to clearly differentiate between forest produce and crops grown on agricultural land.
