Chandigarh, Jan. 24 -- An explosion on the railway line near Sirhind on Saturday triggered strong reaction from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The blast damaged a part of the railway track near Sirhind station in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district and reportedly injured the loco pilot of a freight train, police said. The explosion occurred only two days ahead of the Republic Day, raising concerns over the government's ability to ensure public safety during national celebrations.
