Kigali, July 24 -- Rwandan President Paul Kagame appointed Justin Nsengiyumva as the new Prime Minister yesterday, paving the way for the formation of a new cabinet.

Nsengiyumva, who served as deputy governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, replaced Edouard Ngirente, who had been the PM since 2017 and was sacked yesterday, according to a statement released by the office of the government's spokesperson.

In a post on X, Nsengiyumva thanked the president for the trust and confidence in him, pledging to serve the country with humility and dedication.
