Moscow, Jan. 3 -- : Russia has sharply criticised the reported U.S. military strikes on Venezuela, calling it a clear violation of international law and an unacceptable use of force against a sovereign state.
Russian officials said the actions breach the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and seriously undermine global stability.
Moscow rejected the reasons cited by Washington for the military operation, including claims related to fighting drug trafficking or security threats. Russian authorities stressed that such arguments do not provide any legal justification for launching strikes on another country and insisted that Venezuela does not pose a direct threat that would allow the use of force under international law.
