New Delhi/New York, Sept. 26 -- Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran have strongly opposed the establishment of any American Army base in and around Afghanistan and emphasized that sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Afghanistan should be respected.
Foreign Ministers of the four countries met on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and issued a Joint Statement stating that Afghanistan's neighbouring countries respect the country's sovereignty, independence and national dignity.
