Nanded, Dec. 30 -- : With preparations intensifying for the upcoming Nanded Municipal Corporation elections, the municipal headquarters is witnessing heavy footfall as aspiring candidates queueing up to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOC) by clearing all dues of property, water and other tax dues.
The corporation has made it mandatory for property and water tax dues to be cleared before issuing NOCs, leading to a significant rise in tax payments.
So far, the civic body has collected Rs 1,70,92,459 as property and water tax. As per officials, over 1,200 aspiring candidates have applied for NOCs, which are being issued only after approvals from around 24 concerned departments.
