Shimla, Nov. 13 -- A drive launched by the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) to remove encroachments from the iconic Mall Road turned chaotic when several shopkeepers allegedly misbehaved with civic body employees.
The Corporation has lodged complaints with the police against those involved in verbally abusing and obstructing officials during the operation on Tuesday.
According to SMC Commissioner Bhupinder Attri, complaints had been pouring in from residents and tourists about shopkeepers and vendors encroaching on pedestrian spaces along the busy stretch between Shere Punjab and the Lift on Mall Road.
