Kozhikode, April 29 -- A 40-year-old rubber tapping worker was killed in a wild elephant attack at Karuvarakundu in Kerala's Malappuram district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as C Jamsheer, a native of Mullara near Karuvarakundu.
Jamsheer was attacked by a wild elephant on Tuesday early morning while he was at work in a rubber plantation in the Manaliyampadam area, close to the Keralamkundu Waterfalls region.
Other workers at the site who noticed the attack managed to drive the elephant away.
They rushed Jamsheer to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.
However, he succumbed to his injuries.
