Hyderabad, March 24 -- Telangana Scheduled Castes Minister Adluri Lakhman Kumar on Tuesday informed the Assembly that financial assistance amounting to Rs 607.49 crore has been sanctioned to 4,944 SC, ST, BC/EBC and Minority students over the past two and a half years under overseas scholarship schemes.
Replying to questions raised by members during Question Hour, the Minister said that another 520 students from these communities are yet to be sanctioned scholarships and are currently in the process of receiving payments.
